Creating a Ragging-Free Campus
Ragging is a harmful and unacceptable practice in which students may be subjected to physical, mental or emotional harassment. Every student deserves to learn and live in an environment based on dignity, respect, safety and mutual support.
The institution aims to prevent ragging in all its forms, encourage students to report incidents promptly and take appropriate action in accordance with applicable rules and regulations.

Goals of the Institution
The institution seeks to prevent conduct that causes fear, humiliation, injury or distress to any student, both on campus and outside it.
- Prevent physical or mental harassment and conduct that causes apprehension, humiliation or distress to students.
- Prevent ragging in all forms, on and off the campus.
- Encourage mutual respect, professional conduct and a supportive learning environment.
- Help students understand the institution's anti-ragging expectations and reporting channels.
Prohibited Acts
The existing institutional policy identifies the following types of conduct as punishable ingredients of ragging, subject to applicable laws and regulations.
- Abetment of ragging.
- Criminal conspiracy to rag.
- Unlawful assembly or rioting while ragging.
- Public nuisance created during ragging.
- Violation of decency and morals through ragging.
- Injury to the body, including hurt or grievous hurt.
- Wrongful restraint or wrongful confinement.
- Criminal force or assault, including sexual or unnatural offences.
- Extortion and criminal trespass.
- Offences against property.
- Criminal intimidation.
Disciplinary Actions

Suspension from classes and academic privileges.
Withholding or withdrawal of scholarships, fellowships or other benefits.
Debarment from tests, examinations or other evaluation processes.

Cancellation of admission.
Rustication from the institution for a period specified by the applicable rules.
Expulsion and possible debarment from admission to other institutions, where applicable.

Collective punishment where individual offenders cannot be identified, if permitted by the applicable rules.

- Hostel supervision and access to the designated warden support student safety.
- Students are informed about anti-ragging undertakings and their responsibilities under applicable guidelines.
